Our Story

Virtually Webbed came about on our first wedding anniversary. Like a lot of people during the global financial crisis of the late Noughties, we hadn't been out much so we decided to treat ourselves to a meal in a local restaurant. Being an internet geek of course meant that I'd searched online for where to go. The restaurant I chose had a website but it had very obviously been produced by restaurateurs and not web developers. It only rendered properly in one browser and even then it was very sadly lacking. We went anyway though because it was local and we had given up our car and travelled everywhere by bicycle.

When we got there we weren't surprised that the place wasn't very plush but it was adequate. The food arrived at the table quickly and with a friendly smile and some banter. The first taste was spectacular and all subsequent bites didn't disappoint! Here were people who really knew how to cook!

After dining we got chatting to the owners (who politely ignored our salivations) only to discover that they too had struggled through the lack of custom the GFC had brought. Right there and then we offered our services to create a new website for the restaurant so they might attract more custom and avoid the ever-looming inevitability of closure.

And so the idea (which had been brewing for some time) had hatched and Virtually Webbed was born.

We understand how hard it is to get a business off the ground, we've been there too. These people with expertise in other areas but whose drive and commitment match our own are exactly the people we're here to help.

If you're inspired by someone's skills, do your best to create more custom for them. We hope you'll be impressed enough with the sites we create to pass on our name too.

Valid XHTML

This is generally seen as a badge of honour among developers but we believe it's more than that, it's a sign of our commitment to doing things right. You can rest assured that we've taken the time to write compliant code and we haven't just hacked your site together. It's also a sign that your site will remain one of the most stable through any future updates in web technology.
